Service Description
Ever wanted to have a go on a potter's wheel and make a pot? Do you love watching 'The Great Pottery Throw Down'. This workshop is the perfect opportunity to just have 'a go' at trying pottery and as an extra bonus you will be taught by Dave Short (Pottery Throw Down finalist 2024) and in-house artist Rachel Elizabeth. Perfect for individuals, couples, friend and family groups. Group size 10 people. This taster experience will introduce you to the basics of throwing on a potter's wheel and clay hand building. The class will be spilt into two parts - half the class will have a go at throwing a pot on the wheel and the other half will make a 3D pottery tile using hand building and carving techniques. Then the groups will swap over. Both sessions will include a 15 minute introduction and an hour of making. A total of 2.5 hrs of pottery fun. Dave and Rachel will be on hand throughout to help and guide you. At the end you will choose your favourite pot which will also be taken away with your 3d tile and trimmed, glazed and fired. Your items will be returned, for you to keep, approximately a month later to The Spotty Dog Place. Delivery can also be arranged at an additional cost. Date: Saturday 17th May Time: 10am - 12.45 Price: £90 Duration: 2 hours and 45 minutes. Group Size: 10 People Location: The Spotty Dog Pottery, 7 Church Street, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, GL20 5PA Skill level: Suitable for beginners aged 12 years and over All materials and tools supplied. We will supply an apron and towel but would suggest wearing clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting clay on (The clay doesn’t stain and is fully washable). This workshop will include: - Apron and hand towel - Clay and tools - Use of a wheel each - Expert tuition - One of your pots will be trimmed, glazed and fired and so will your 3D tile. Please note, due to the nature of clay, items sometimes explode or crack in the firing process. You will be informed when it is ready for collection from the Spotty Dog Place, Tewkesbury. This is approximately 4 weeks later. Booking is essential, as numbers are limited to 10 students. Payment due when booking.

Terms & Conditions When booking a workshop run by Rachel Elizabeth , the following terms & conditions form the agreement between us (The Spotty Dog Place) and you (Participant) ● Workshops will require at least 3 participants to run, if the workshop has to be cancelled for this reason a full refund will be given. ● A workshop booking is not deemed confirmed until full payment is received. ● Payment is required in full at the point of booking and a space on the workshop will be confirmed by the email address you provided at the point of booking. ● Once a booking is confirmed by email it can only be cancelled if at least 15 days' notice is given by the participant whereupon, Rachel Elizabeth may offer to: Resell the place by approaching those on a reserve list if there is one. In that event, a full refund will be given. Transfer your booking to another workshop run by Rachel Elizabeth Should the alternative workshop be at a differing price, the difference will be rechargeable or refunded. Issue a credit note for another workshop run by Rachel Elizabeth ● If Rachel Elizabeth should cancel a workshop for any reason, she will contact you as soon as possible and an alternative date for the same workshop will be offered. If this cannot be fulfilled a full refund will be given.
